I am so glad that God is still in the prayer answering business. Sue became very ill week before last with what we thought was the flu. After a couple of days in bed it became much worse so I took her to the emergency room at the local hospital. She had bronchial pneumonia, and a gastro-intestinal infection as well. She was admitted to the hospital and put on three antibiotics by IV. She was there for eight days and lost 15 pounds. That's a lot concidering the fact that she's not very big to start with. After a fast contact to several folks that I know to be strong prayer warriors, a prayer chain was started on her behalf. She was released from the hospital and is doing much better, but is still trying to regain some of the strength she lost during this time.
And folks, God really is in the business to answer prayers. He always answers, but not always with what we want. He knows best, and He has a master plan. I have learned not to question Him but rather to try to accept what He sends my way. There have been times when I have prayed so hard for healing for someone, and yet it seems God in all His infinite glory had something else for them.
Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people ??? I wish I had an answer, but I don't. I am reminded of an old gospel song that Jimmy Swaggart used to sing titled " I don't need to understand, I just need to hold His hand ".
Things are going well with Texas BBQ & Beans in our local spot here in Carterville MO. We are three weeks into it and selling lots of BBQ. If you are ever in the area, stop by and mention our blog. We'll treat you to some of the best South Texas style BBQ you will find this side of the Red River.
Until then, as always, Via Con Dios

DM..I am so glad that Sue is better, and on the way to good health, again. I know how concerned you must have been.
God is good, there's no doubt about that, and His wisdom is way beyond ours...which is one of the reasons that we don't always get the answers we want to our prayers.
I know I have seen instant healings when I prayed, and there was a time when the lady declared, lying there in her hospital bed, that she was healed, and the joy of the Lord was all over her, yet, she died the very next day. She received her perfect healing, then, didn't she?
Thank God, that He has given us all a measure of faith, because we need it, don't we? Of course, we have to use it, in order for it to grow, I think, but I praise Him for His faithfulness to us.
God bless you and Sue, keeping you in his perfect care.
Jan
Daddy,
I had to catch up on every ones blogs and face book. Wow it has been so busy around here and the past week has just been crazy. I have hung up my hat today I am just sitting here checking some stuff out on the computer and then I am going to go in and cuddle up with a blanket on the couch. Not been a good week for me and I am throwing in the hat for one day. So glad Sue is feeling better. I am keeping her in my prayers. I also have a friend that I work with and his mom was in a bed car accident a couple of weeks ago PLEASE put Elsie Fay Kieth and her family on your prayer list. She had severe head trauma, shattered hip and other things. There is a web site you can go to keep up with her conditions it is www.caringbridge.org/visit/elsiefaykeith. I work with her son at Baldor. Please tell all your prayer warriors to pray for this family. Glad to hear the BBQ business is going good for you. Well better get off here and go be a couch potato. Love ya lots and miss ya! Love Linda
Jan, thanks for the comments. Your prayers are always appreciated and valued. My daughter Linda, at Justbrowsing, posted at comment also with a special prayer need. I know you and your husband are prayer warriors and this is such a vital ministry in our lives. As we say 'down in the hills of Tennessee', " Y'all keep praying. We need the prayer, and you need the practice".
May God continue to shine on your lives, DM
Linda, good to hear from you. And it is OK to be a couch potato once in a while. You work hard enough, you have earned it. We will be praying for your friend's mother. I believe God is sending His healing touch already. Faith is what we grow on. If we only exercised it when we were in trouble, we would be like an athelete who only worked out before a game.
Remember the package I sent to Fairfax a while back ? Havn't heard a word. Imagine that.
Love, Daddy
