Water Everywhere

The rain has been coming down since last night. I think we have received around three inches so far. It takes at least two inches for the water to come over my driveway, and it was at that point around daybreak this morning. The little creek that runs thru my property is out of it's banks and creating a real mess. The whole area is under a flash flood warning and the weather forecast is calling for the rain to continue thru Sunday.
I sure am glad I'm not cooking BBQ or doing a festival this weekend. I hate to stand out in the rain and try to keep a fire going. Besides, if I stand out in the rain, it washes the Colorback out of my beard. ha.
This weekend is an off week for us at Texas BBQ & Beans. We have a 1-day event next Saturday at Lamar MO that will be a busy time. We always do well saleswise at Lamar and always have a great time. But for now, it's rest and relaxation time for me. I have tickets to a good afternoon music show at Branson, and am looking forward to chowing down on some excellent baby back ribs at Lambert's afterwards. AND, I won't have to do the cooking !! How great is that ? I'll let y'all know how good the food was when I get back. Until then........

Daddy,
I am sure you are having a good time at Branson right now and I am glad to hear you got to go. I am sure that things wont fall apart at the house till you get back and I know you deserve the fun. We are not doing much this weekend its raining so we are not riding. We went to toon this morning and got everything we needed to get us through till monday afternoon cause the low water bridge is flooding. In fact we got home in the nick of time. The water was already over the bridge when we got back. So here we are tucked in all nice and warm at the ranch. Well anyway no exciting news. Looking forward to hearing about how your trip to Branson went. Love ya bunches Linda

linda, thanks for stopping by. I just got back from Branson a little while ago and after walking my daily 3 miles, I'm beat. I have to go in to work early tomorrow (10am) so I'm going to bed. I'll call you tomorrow and tell you about the trip. Love Daddy

Don..how wonderful that you got away, and were able to just relax and enjoy yourself!

I think Branson is a great, wholesome, place to go...although, I've never been there, I've heard a lot about it, and have seen some televised programs from there.

Jan, thanks for stopping by. And yes, Branson is a fun place. It is only about 1 1/2 hr drive from Poverty Flats to Branson and well worth the drive. DM
