No News / Good News

I remember an old saying that no news is good news. Don't know that I agree with that entirely, but for lack of anything wittier to start out with it will have to do. There just isn't much happening around Poverty Flats lately. With Granny gone it just seens like none of the fun things are fun anymore. I'm told quite often that time will heal but right now I have serious doubts about that too. I'm sure it's so, just kinda hard to grasp for now.

I have found myself thinking about our business Texas BBQ & Beans. I have seriously considered just selling all the equiptment and closing it out. The whole thing was a dream that my wife and I shared together, and without her, it's hard to be excited about anything anymore. But, in talking with our children and some close friends, I have come to realize that to allow that dream to desolve would be to dishonor her memory. SO !!!! We WILL continue on, bigger and busier than we ever have been. I am already booking events for this season withg the first so far being the new "Springtime On Broadway" festival in Webb City MO in April. We will post the exact date soon, along with our schedule for this year. We hope to see many of you at our serving window.

Have a really great day, and remember, "You are someone special cause GOD don't make no junk" Via Con Dios DM

Hi Don,
I totally agree, Mom would want you to continue with the BBQ business. She knew how much it meant to you and she would throw a fit if she knew you were considering selling out, and you know she would! I know it is hard right now and probably always will be but you have got to press on. Until Roxi came along in my life Mom was my biggest encourager with my wood craft business and I KNOW she would not want me to quit painting! Everyday I set here and paint and think of Mom and all the encouraging things she would tell me. I am SO!!! glad that you are going to keep the BBQ business going, it will be good for you. Hopefully!!! sometime this year Roxi and I can get down there and do a festival with you, it would be alot of fun. Better go for now, I'll talk to you later.

Just in case you didn't read my comment to you on my blog, be carefull out there cutting wood with Rob, I don't want you guys to get scalped!! :)

Sir..no doubt that your first time out without your dear wife will be hard..very painful, I'm sure--but I think you made the right decision to carry on with your mutual dream.

God bless you, and keep you in His perfect care.
