Wow !!!! what a beautiful day GOD has made for us to enjoy today ! The temp is supposed to reach 69 today and the sun is shinning with a passion. The wind is blowing from the west- southwest and drying out all the damp ground we have had for the last month or so. This is definately an outdoors kind of day. Hurricane Hailey and I will probably spend most of the day outside catching up on some yard work. The gardens still need to be tilled under so guess we will work on that this morning. It's kinda late in the season for that but has just been too wet up til now.
Don't know what all we will get accomplished today, but whatever it is, we will enjoy the time. I think that is one of the joys of retirement that I value most. After 41 years in the trucking business, having to live by schedules and appointments, always living by someone else's time frame, the thing I enjoy most is doing What I want, When I want, or just not doing at all . This is the way it is with our BBQ business. If I want to go somewhere and sell BBQ I will, and if I don't, I won't. Pretty simple business philosophy. I do what I want, what I enjoy, when I want to do it. How cool is that !!!!
Thanksgiving Day is coming in a hurry ! We will probably have a full house for the holiday. My son Don W. and his family is coming up from South Texas to spend a few days with us. Don't know who else might be here but we will start cooking pies and assorted other goodies about Monday. We will deep-fry a couple of 13 lb turkeys and have lots of dressing and cranberry sauce, home made hot rolls, greenbean casserole, and lots of other good stuff . Oh , and don't forget the Malox and Rolaids.
May the God of Heaven and Earth, the God of all creation, bless you and your's this coming holiday season.
