Granny's all patched up !!!

Well, we took Granny down to the big city hospital today, where she had surgery to remove her gall bladder. Beat's me why GOD ever put something in us that we can live without and often are better off without ! ! Don't know , but that's going on my list of things to ask about when I graduate to Glory. Anyway, she is doing very well , all things considered. She is still pretty groggy tonight and no doubt will be really sore tomorrow but she did get to come home this evening and is in bed asleep. Doctor said she will be fine in a few days but for now she needs lots of rest. Life around Poverty Flats is not always very restful but for now it will have to be.

We just wrapped up the big Emancipation Day festival in Joplin MO yesturday. Can't say a whole lot about it except it was NOT what we were led to believe it was going to be. It turned out to be more of a Democrat Party rally and fund raiser for the black community. I can assure you that many of the black people are a lot more prejudice toward white people than we are toward them. Don't believe that ???? Think about this... A black man, in a crowd of whites will usually be accepted with little or no problem... Most white folks don't want to be thought of as racist. BUT....... a white man in a crowd of blacks, especially at a place that is considered to be a black event, is very often made to feel like an intruder. I believe that GOD loves us all regardless of our skin color, and if a person's heart is right with GOD there is no place for racial prejudice.
Not sure how I got off on that, but there it is.

Must go, my beauty rest calls........ Via Con Dios DM

Mom,
I'm glad that everything went all right and that you are home resting. I know that you will be sore for a day or two but then watch out you guys! I wish I could have been down there for you but it just wasn't possible, but then you knew that. I feel bad though because 28 years ago, when I was in the hospital, you were there for me. Well anyway, I want you to lay around and rest ALOT for awhile, PLEASE! I will talk to you later, I love you!
